TAMPA, FL – Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) Tampa Bay once again hosted professionals from across the Tampa Bay area in a record-setting turnout for the 15th Annual Economic Summit. On June 4th, nearly 600 attendees gathered at the Tampa Marriott Water Street to hear an elite group of experts discuss regional and national financial forecasts. Dr. Anirban Basu, a nationally recognized economist and Chairman and CEO of Sage Policy Group, returned as the summit’s featured keynote speaker. He was joined by a panel of community leaders that included Jane Castor, Mayor of Tampa; Bruce Rector, Mayor of Clearwater; Ken Welch, Mayor of St. Petersburg; and Bill Cronin, President/CEO of the Pasco County Economic Development Council.

The panel kicked off this year’s summit with a lively discussion, moderated by WFLA-TV’s Stacie Schaible, on the many variables shaping economic outcomes, including interest rates, global conflict, business confidence, wage dynamics, and demographics. Panelists also gave a summary of the major risks and opportunities economic stakeholders will encounter in the upcoming year. Dr. Basu followed with a comprehensive overview of our economic future in his presentation titled “The Good, the Bad, & the Ugly.” After an insightful discussion on what to expect from the economy on both a national and local level, attendees left the event well-informed on the bright economic outlook for Tampa Bay, even amid “the bad”and “the ugly.”

A special thank you to Stearns Weaver Miller (with members Elise Batsel, Susan Bennett, Victoria Clark-Grassano, Sam Decker, and Nicole Neugebauer MacInnes) for serving as the Prestige Event Sponsor for the 15th Annual Economic Summit!
